St Dominic's Grammar School - an exceptional Staffordshire independent school
If you are looking for private schools offering exceptional education in Staffordshire, consider St Dominic's Grammar School. This leading independent school is situated in South Staffordshire, in the idyllic rural village of Brewood, just a 7-minute drive from the Shropshire border and a 20-minute drive from Telford or Wolverhampton centres.
Teaching children for over a century
Once a convent, now non-denominational with a Christian ethos, our co-educational school has been educating boys and girls since 1920. We continually strive to further this century-long legacy to stimulate, inspire and challenge every child at every stage of their development.
Dedicated to a rounded education
Though academic success is paramount, our school also appreciates the importance of broadening the horizons of all of our students. For that reason, we look to enrich our pupils' school life beyond the classroom and to get involved in creative and sporting activities. St. Dominic’s Grammar School Performing Arts Centre offers unrivalled facilities for dance, drama and music. In addition, we have exceptional and diverse sports facilities and a comprehensive extra-curricular programme that complements the academic development of all our pupils.
Our approach to school fees
As a not-for-profit company, we invest all profits back into the school. As a result, we have the lowest fees of any local independent school and are committed to not compromising on the quality of education, facilities or class sizes. For instance, class sizes are a maximum of 18 in the preparatory school. This continues for most subjects in the senior school, where small classes allow for more personalised learning, especially the core subjects of maths, English and science.
Serving the surrounding towns and counties
Welcoming both girls and boys from 4-18, we operate two dedicated bus services serving the Wolverhampton area that pick up pupils for the junior school, senior school, and the sixth form. The services operate throughout the week and have pickups with route transfers serving Wolverhampton, Telford, Bridgnorth, Stafford and Newport.
